Details

Wear the comfort of home wherever you go with the House Dress in subtly puckered blue gingham, reminiscent of picnics in the sun. The dress is inspired by the roomy, billowy nightgown silhouettes my 'big sister' wore at home and out. Featuring a flattering v-neck and puff sleeves, the piece is made of soft end-of-roll 100% cotton for maximum comfort. Comes with a matching sash.

Also available in Cream Harvest and Black Flora.

Features you'll love:

  • 100% cotton, sturdy but breathable & soft
  • Unlined, not sheer
  • Slip-on style
  • Matching detachable sash belt
  • Two functional pockets

Wash & Care

This piece is made out of 100% cotton deadstock fabric. This means fabric left over from overproduction usually by larger fashion manufacturers. By using deadstock fabric, we save gallons of water and reduce the amount of textile waste that get sent to the landfills.

While fabric has been pre-shrunk, some shrinking might still occur during first few washes. Gentle hand wash me separately in cold water and lay flat to dry for best results. Definitely don't bleach or wring or tumble dry me. Steam iron on medium heat.

Designed with love in Singapore. Made with care in Cambodia.

About The Brand

Dear Samfu makes nostalgic clothing for contemporary women. The brand gives Grandma’s wardrobe classics a modern spin, bringing back Grandma’s values of thoughtful consumption and sustainability into our wardrobes.

The Samfu is Grandma’s favourite - it is a breezy shirt (sam, 衫) and trouser (fu, 裤) pairing usually made out of the same fabric. Designed for maximum comfort for the tropical heat, ease of movement and modesty, the Samfu was a popular everyday style in Singapore in the 1950-60s.

Ethically made using deadstock fabric and produced in small batches, every style is consciously created and designed to last through the seasons. Each Dear Samfu garment is a re-interpretation of the Samfu story, letting every Samfu girl cultivate a beautiful relationship with her piece in the long run.
